What You Don't Really Know About Four Hollywood Directors

It is a common misconception that most Hollywood films are just about big spending so as to make more money out of it. There are a remnant though, who will direct their films with style in mind. Very determined in their way of doing things, these New York directors focus on issues and topics that affect society more than other entertainment flicks you may come across.

Martin Scorsese who will credit his roots to having been brought up in a Sicilian immigrant family that lived in parts of New York that were under the patronage of the Mafia portrays the evil he saw in his childhood in the films he makes.

These movies normally have a New York setting and the characters are mostly the infamous people. They will have a good chance of letting Italian-American actors show there faces frequently. You will always catch a bit of Robert De Niro and a bit of Leonardo DiCaprio (titanic).

The violent themed films that Scorcese produced have kept on raising eyebrows. Scorcese has continually defended his viewpoint as the violence merely being an echo of the reality he experienced.

The other name you may be looking for is Ford Cappola the famous director who brought you The Godfather back in 1972. You are probably too familiar with that story of the Mafia family

After about two years, Coppola was calling the shots once again after he churned out The Godfather II. The Godfather II made Ford Coppola stand out as one of five directors to win an Oscar for Best picture Best screenplay and Best director all coming as a result of one movie. Another interesting one to watch is Apocalypse now, his war epic based on Joseph Conrad's novel.

Woody Allen is a household name when it comes to comedy. He both directs and acts. It is a bet that you did not know that his real name is Allen Stewart Konigsberg. He hails from a New York based Jewish family.

Back to the comedy scene, and a brief preview of a day out for Woody Allen, you will likely see him doing a movie with one comedy trick after another. He will also rush in as the comedian hero. He is viewed as an urban neurotic. He is a master of amusing dialogue in Manhattan shots.
