Everybody has their favorite actors and their favorite movies. We might disagree on who is better or which movie is better but we all know what we enjoy. There are several incredibly talented actors out there and there's also some very good looking actors. Several fit into both categories. And there's also the actors who've used their notoriety and celebrity for even more than just a movie but additionally to foster philanthropy and help the planet.

A number of people might not even keep in mind that Tom Hanks started out on the absurd but funny TV show called "Bosom Buddies". It became surprising to see the depth of his talent since it emerged throughout his career, with such inspiring roles as Andrew Beckett, a gay lawyer who became infected with AIDS in the past days of the disease and also the hardships he faced as he was fired from his conservative law practice due to the fear. That role brought Tom Hanks his very first Academy Award in 1993.

The very next year in 1994, Tom Hanks also received the Academy Award for that role of Forrest Gump. He was only the 2nd actor to have ever won back-to-back Academy Awards, the solitary other being Spencer Tracy clear back in 1937 and 1938.

Another favorite actor is Mr Brad Pitt, who started out as the pretty boy in the 1991 film, Thelma and Louise. However, despite his appearance, he was not typecast as only the good looking one. You may can remember the motion pictures "Seven" and "Twelve Monkeys" from the year 1995. Brad Pitt has been exceptionally active in humanitarian causes and through that he has donated both considerable amounts of time and money to worthy causes.

Following the Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, Brad Pitt founded the "Make it Right Foundation". The reason was to function as the catalyst for fast redevelopment of the Lower 9th ward in New Orleans by building new homes which were affordable, sustainable and in keeping with the New Orleans culture, and to build the houses quickly so the residents could return home sooner. This worthy cause found positive results.

There exists an execllent actor who is not around but his memory lingers on. Paul Newman passed on September 26, 2008 but he's fondly recalled for his roles in many great movies including "Road to Perdition" in 2002, "The Color of Money" in 1986 and "Absence of Malice" in 1981. One of his greatest and many memorable roles arrived in 1969 as Butch Cassidy in "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid".

Indeed, Paul Newman had a number of great roles but perhaps his greatest and most outstanding accomplishments originated from his philanthropy efforts. In 1982, he and a business colleague he created a line of foods referred to as "Newman's Own". First it was salad dressing and now there is pasta sauce, lemonade, popcorn, salsa, cookies and more. However the remarkable thing is the fact that Newman declared that all of the profits from the food company after taxes would be donated to charity, including his own "Hole In the Wall" camps for sick children. By early 1006, Newman's Own had donated more than $250 million to worthy charitable causes around the world.

Movies are an everlasting source of great entertainment for all of us and we might love the most popular actors for his or her movies as well as for some other reasons. Since we can now download movies right from our own computer there's never grounds to overlook your favorite actor or movie.
